Summer officially arrives on Wednesday, June 20. It may be hard to tell with the weather already being in the 100’s. The city will be quiet for the next couple of weeks as there is usually a little lull before July 4th. That doesn’t mean there isn’t plenty to do. No matter what time you decide to come to the city this summer, there are some events you may want to mark on your vacation schedule.
SpyOnVegas.com Concert Series
Who remembers Friday Night Live? Each Friday a concert went down at Hard Rock Hotel with an open bar and free admission to SpyOnVegas.com members. Lucky for locals and visitors alike, the experience has returned at a new venue and day. Every Thursday through September, members can experience a live concert of various genres at The Cosmopolitan’s Boulevard Pool with an open bar between 7 p.m. to 8 p.m. Some of the bands featured throughout the summer are AWOLNATION, Chiddy Bang, Ryan Leslie, and Mad Caps. This Thursday, June 21, Elan Atias is performing. Atias has had some major hits including “Dreams come True” featured on the Sex and the City soundtrack and another hit on 50 First Dates soundtrack teaming up with Gwen Stefani. He focuses mostly on reggae performing with The Wailers for thirteen years. Reggae music by the pool on a warm summer night with free drinks sounds like a perfect match.
Fourth of July
The Fourth lands on a Wednesday this year making any hopes of a four day weekend out the window. Do you celebrate the weekend before, day of, or weekend after? There isn’t much going on the day of here other than the traditional firework shows at all Station Casinos. It may be a little early to be making plans as everything in this city is announced last minute. But let’s face it; time has been going by so fast that the holiday will be here before you know it. It seems that Vegas will be celebrating the holiday the weekend after, 6th – 8th, with major DJ lineups and celebrity hosts. Surrender Nightclub has announced their lineup with Sidney Samson, Steve Aoki, and Lil Jon. Encore Beach Club will feature Dada Life, Tiesto, and Avicii. Since its at the Wynn, XS Nightclub will be featuring the same lineup. I guess it will be up to you if you prefer to see them during the day or night. Events will continue to post as the weekend creeps closer.
The Annual Birthday Extravaganza
I feel like it was yesterday when I celebrated my birthday last year. How did a year pass by already? Alas, it is coming up, and the birthday plans have been officially set. Every year my friends fly in and my Vegas peeps come out to celebrate. Each year ends up bigger than the year before. Throughout my years in Vegas, I’ve celebrated at various lounges and clubs with last year being held at Blush. The property is no longer open, but I am still blown away by the event they threw for me. It is good to party at a smaller venue to keep everyone together, but this year more people are coming. With free entry to all SpyOnVegas members, the bigger the better right? In fact, I’m not celebrating for just one day, but back to back, night and day. The first celebration will kick off at Haze Nightclub on Friday, July 20 and continue Saturday, July 21 at Liquid Pool Lounge. Let’s just hope I remember it all. I’ll be posting the link to join very soon.
World Football Challenge
Soccer or football, whatever you want to call it, is making its debut in Las Vegas on Sunday, August 5 at Sam Boyd Stadium. The game is part of the 2012 World Football Challenge with Real Madrid playing against Juventus. Ticket prices range from $68 up to $253. You can expect the weekend in Vegas to be buzzing with events leading up to it. The city has been waiting years for its chance to feature a game here, and it’s finally getting its wish. I’m just excited for all the sexy soccer players to be running around.
As I always say, events pop up and will continue to do so in the upcoming months. If you decide to take on the summer heat here, remember to pack SPF lotion, stay hydrated, and pack the right clothes to keep cool. It’s going to be one hot summer.

A further issue is video games can be serious
anyway with the main focus on understanding rather than enjoyment.
Although, there is an entertainment factor to keep your sons
or daughters engaged, every single game is often designed to work on a specific set of
skills or course, such as mathematics or scientific discipline.
