It is the time for all good things to come forth and even in the City of Sin we strive to do our best at being saints… even if it is for a short time. Holiday parties are bouncing up slowly but surely, the nightclubs and bars are pushing their efforts to help those in needs, and the city itself is bringing out their annual nonprofit events. The city does slow down with visitors, but those who do come can take advantage of some killer deals and enjoy the calm before the storm when New Year’s Eve arrives. If you will be visiting Las Vegas over the next couple of weeks, join in the holiday spirit and spread good cheer.
This weekend in Vegas everyone is running to help a cause. Starting on Thursday you may have to crawl before you can start running with Town Square’s Pub Crawl at Cadillac Ranch, NU Sanctuary, and Lolita’s. It is the official pre-party for the Rock ‘n Roll Marathon that is going down on Sunday. Since you will be in Town Square, run by Toys ‘R Us and grab a toy to bring to Tryst nightclub that evening for their annual toy drive. Before I skip a few days, you will have to run over to Vanity Friday night as they are having a benefit for local BMX riders, TJ Lavin and Ty Pinney, which is hosted by Dana White. Both riders were involved in severe accidents back in October only two days apart, which resulted in life threatening injuries. All proceeds at the door go to the benefit. When you wake up on Saturday you may see Santa running down the strip. Don’t worry, no one put a drug in your drink, it is simply the Annual Santa Run. They run every year in hopes of breaking the Guinness World Record and to help benefit Opportunity Village, a nonprofit organization that serves people in the Las Vegas community with intellectual disabilities.
If can manage staying through an extra day I would recommend it as Sunday is the Annual Rock ‘n Roll Marathon. One of the biggest events in Las Vegas, people dress up as Elvis to run, dress in their wedding gear if they want a “run-through” wedding, or simply just run for the cause, The Chrohn’s and Colitis Foundation of America. The event lasts all day with various bands playing at each location, a huge crowd to cheer on the runners, and a special performance by Bret Michaels at the finish line. If the cold is too much for you, you can head inside to XS at the Encore where they are having the official “after-party” and opening early for a hosted bar between 7PM-8PM. There is never too much of a good thing and XS continues to fight the good cause on Monday, December 6th when they feature their Annual Toy Drive.
Holiday events will continue to pop up as the countdown to Christmas continues. Make sure you go to spyonvegas.com for the most up to date events. Whatever holiday you celebrate, doing a good deed this year will be the greatest gift anyone can give this year.
